Self-taught and endlessly versatile, multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and beatboxer Stracho Temelkovski has built his musical path through collaboration. His debut album breathes the free spirit of jazz, the scents of the Balkans, the Mediterranean, and the Near and Far East, and even the outskirts of Buenos Aires. The Sound Braka is the quintessence of these influences—the fruit of a musical world driven by boundless curiosity and destined to carve its own path in jazz.
Recorded at Studio La Buissonne and La Bobine in Grenoble, the album is the culmination of a long maturing process. Performing this project solo on stage, Stracho Temelkovski makes strings and percussion sing as naturally as he breathes, telling the story of his roots, his history, his pain, and his joy. This sonic dream, the echo of an inner dialogue, comes to life through his rare ability to switch from bass to viola, from mandola to percussion (daf, bendir, cymbal, and udu)—or even play them all at once.
